We hope you’ve been enjoying our monthly updates on the latest happenings in our office and with the team. It’s the end of yet another busy month and can you believe we’re already a week into May already?
Early in April, Kathryn and Seth attended afternoon tea at The Family Co to meet the fabulous team and understand more about the important work they perform in the community. The Family Co provides vital family support services to those going through issues such as separation & divorce, family violence, housing difficulties, and a range of other services. If you are seeking support for a range of issues affecting those going through family hardships, The Family Co is a great local organisation, and the team are friendly and experienced.
Kathryn and Seth also attended the Law Council of Australia’s Family Law Section webinar on the Family Law Amendment Act 2024. We’ll be sharing more on these amendments on our blog, so keep an eye out.
In the spirit of continuous improvement, our conveyancers Annette and Sarah also recently attended a webinar on the ATO’s Foreign Resident Capital Gains Withholding (FRCGW). This session was a comprehensive review of the FRCGW as well as a review of the recent changes to the law, tips to avoid errors, and further opportunity to understand the FRCGW. If you have questions about these in your conveyancing transaction, they have the answers!
Harriss Jones Lawyers is also excited to announce a recent acquisition of Sydney Surrogacy Lawyers and welcomes founder Nicole Aghabi. Nicole is a highly respected surrogacy lawyer, and we have had the privilege of working with her for many years. Her expertise and dedication in this area of law is widely recognised and valued. We are excited to expand our practice and now offer surrogacy law services to assist and support our clients in navigating this complex and sensitive area. We look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional legal services with the benefit of Nicole’s extensive knowledge and experience.
We are also keen to hear from you, our valued readers and clients, about your experiences with us. If we’ve helped you with a new will or updated an old one, coached you through the purchase of your property, or maybe assisted you with obtaining a Grant of Probate, we would love your feedback. You can leave a Google or Facebook review or write to us at admin@hjlaw.com.au.
As always, congratulations to all our clients who have recently purchased a new property or sold and moved to a new home. We thank you for the trust you’ve placed in our team and we hope you enjoy your new milestone in life. Our team looks forward to assisting you with the next one!
